Spoiler alert: You don’t need a 90-page pitch deck. You just need a plan that works.
Let’s get one thing straight - a business plan isn’t just for bankers in pinstripe suits or corporate sharks with big egos.
If you’re a startup, a solo operator, a creative, a coach, or literally anyone trying to build a business, you need a plan.
Not a “vibe.” Not a mood board.
An actual plan.
And no, it doesn’t have to suck the life out of you.
The Business Plan Struggle Is Real
I’ve coached hundreds of entrepreneurs who panic at the words “business plan.”
They get stuck thinking it has to include:
10-year forecasts (as if the future isn’t chaos)
Spreadsheets in six fonts
Buzzwords like “synergistic scalability” (kill me now)
The truth?
A great business plan is simple, clear, and built for action.
What Your Business Plan ActuallyNeeds
Here’s my signature Braeden breakdown - straight-up, no BS:
1. Who Are You (And Why Do You Give a Damn)?
What do you offer and why does it matter?
Be honest. If your “why” is “because I hate my boss,” own it.
2. Who Are You Serving?
Your real target market - not “everyone.”
Name their pain points. Know their goals. Speak their language.
3. What’s Your Offer?
Break down exactly what you’re selling and how it solves a problem.
No fluff. Just value.
4. How Will You Reach Them?
Your marketing and sales strategy. Social media, PR, email, SEO, networking — whatever makes sense for your audience.
5. How Will You Make Money?
Revenue streams, pricing, expenses. Yes, the money part.
It doesn’t need to be fancy - it needs to be real.
6. What’s Your Execution Plan?
Timeline, milestones, and actions.
Start simple. Adjust as you go.
Real Talk from Braeden: My First Plan Was a Hot Mess
Confession time.
My first business plan was typed in Comic Sans (yes, really).
It had zero structure, made wild revenue assumptions, and I pitched it to an investor over a vodka soda at a gay bar.
But you know what? That cringe first draft got me started.
It forced me to get clear on what I wanted, who I wanted to serve, and how I’d make it happen.
Now I teach others how to do the same, minus the bad font and questionable venue.
Why It Matters: Clarity = Confidence = Cashflow
A basic business plan helps you:
Stop second-guessing every move
Say no to the wrong opportunities
Get investors, banks, or partners to take you seriously
Track your own damn progress
You don’t need a full-blown MBA blueprint.
You just need a roadmap that reflects your vision and keeps your business on track.
Don’t Overthink It
This isn’t about perfection. It’s about clarity.
Still feel stuck?
I’ve worked with clients who delayed launching for months because they were too overwhelmed to write a plan - until I helped them whip one up in a one-hour session.
Now they’ve got revenue rolling in.
You don’t need to know everything. You just need to know where you’re going next.
Ready to Build a Business Plan That Works?
If you’re ready to move from “idea” to “income,” let’s write a plan that feels like you — clear, doable, and grounded in strategy.
Because 'winging it' is a vibe killer, and you deserve a business that actually thrives.
